Framing: The first area is the how the home is constructed. Homes are built out of solid wood. This has proven over time to be a solid way to construct. We have found that to make construction easier, framing members have been added to the wall construction. That may seem like a good idea, but wood does not have a very good insulation value. Thus if the extra wood can be removed with measures called “advanced framing”, the insulation value of the wall will be increased. We have taken this another step farther by building the exterior walls with a “stagared stud” style. Thus the exterior walls are framed 7 1/2” thick. This allows for more insulation value in the wall system. Where we can, we can also incorporate “raised heel trusses”. This is where the truss’s height is increased where it meets the outer wall, to allow for more insulation to be placed.
